The Executive Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid condolence visit to the Emir of Rano, His Highness Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru, over his mother's death.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, said the news of her death shocked him and passed through so much pain and trauma, describing the deceased, Hajiya Maimuna Isa Umaru as a caring mother with exemplary style of life.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Saturday 11th April, 2026.
The Governor was away for official engagement when the death occurred and had sent two delegations differently for the funeral and condolences headed by the Chief of Staff, Dr Sulaiman Walid Sani (mni) and the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim respectfully.

"On behalf of me and my family, government and entire people of Kano State, we pay condolences to you and the entire people of Rano Emirate and pray for Allah (SWA) to forgive her shortcomings and admit her in Jannatul Firdaus," the governor has said at Rano Emirate Palace.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, was accompanied by some representative of the APC leadership both national and state level, as well as some commissioners, Special Advisers, Head of the Agencies and other government functionaries.
The Emir of Rano, ( Autan Bawo) Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru thanked the Governor for the condolences and mentioned that the bond of love between the governor and people of Rano could not be overemphasized.
The Emir said he is impressed by the level of unity the governor has been brought in the state, and appreciated him for the development projects brought to the Emirate which include: provision of water, roads construction, construction of market among others.
Meanwhile, the Governor and his entourage moved to the hometown of Late Assistant Organizing Secretary of the APC in the state, Barrister Abdussalam Ginsau, who died while organizing APC National Convention in Abuja.
Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, described the deceased as a very hardworking, honest and God fearing man, he prayed for Allah to admit him into the highest paradise, Aljannatul Firdaus.
Earlier on, the Chairman of the APC in Kano State, Alhaji Haruna Umar Doguwa has briefed the gathering that investigations revealed that Late Barrister Abdussalam Ginsau died naturally, no any unwholesome behavior was attached to his death.
Doguwa visibly shocked said the deceased was a dependable ally and prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings.
The Chairman of Rano Local Government, Nazir Muhammad Yau, the village head and the father of the deceased, all thanked the Governor for showing love and concern to the bereaved family.
