Nigeria and Israel have reaffirmed their joint commitment to enhancing bilateral ties across critical sectors, including defence, counter-terrorism, technology, healthcare, and trade.

?The diplomatic pledge was renewed during a valedictory audience held in Abuja, where the outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

?Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu commended the departing envoy for his role in cementing relations during his tour of duty.

She highlighted Nigeria’s readiness to broaden strategic partnerships with Israel, particularly in intelligence sharing, border security, security financing, and capacity-building programs.

?The minister also emphasized the potential for growth through direct partnerships between Nigerian startups and Israeli tech firms, while pointing to Israel's advanced capabilities in water management and agricultural technology as key areas for national development.

?In his remarks, Ambassador Freeman praised the hospitality of the Nigerian people and expressed confidence in the future of the bilateral relationship.

He reiterated Israel's ongoing support for Nigeria in innovation, skill acquisition, healthcare, education, and security, noting that annual trade between the two nations—currently estimated at $200 million—holds substantial potential for growth in the coming years.
