?The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a sharp rebuke to former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar following his claims that the 2026 Service-Wide Vote (SWV) was earmarked to fund President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

In a official press statement, the ruling party described the allegations as baseless conjecture aimed at misleading the public and distracting from the progress achieved under the current administration.

?Signed by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the statement expressed surprise that a former Vice President would demonstrate such a lack of understanding regarding basic public finance principles.

The APC clarified that the Service-Wide Vote is a standard, globally recognized contingency mechanism designed to cover government-wide obligations and unforeseen expenses arising after the passage of the annual budget, rather than an illegal slush fund.

?The party criticized Atiku’s past public service record, accusing him of hypocritically lecturing the country on fiscal responsibility despite a personal history associated with financial mismanagement and profligacy.

The APC asserted that Atiku has failed to offer a constructive developmental vision for Nigeria, relying instead on inflammatory commentary and speculative claims.
