33 Artillery Brigade Begins Live Firing Drill in Bauchi

The Headquarters of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, has announced plans to conduct its First Range Classification Exercise for 2026 at the Shadawanka Small Arms Range in Bauchi State.



This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Bauchi by Lt. Esther Fagbolagun, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, said the exercise is scheduled to be held from Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.



The exercise forms part of the brigade’s annual training programme aimed at enhancing troops’ proficiency in weapon handling and application of marksmanship principles.



 It will also involve accurate shooting drills and test firing of personal weapons to assess the overall battle readiness of personnel.



The Army has advised residents of Shadawanka and surrounding communities to expect increased troop movement and intermittent gunfire during the period. 


However, the statement emphasized that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to prevent any threat to lives and property.


Residents are urged not to panic but to continue their normal activities. The brigade further appealed for public cooperation and called on stakeholders to help disseminate the information to ensure widespread awareness.
