EFCC Chairman Charges Retired Officers to Remain Worthy Ambassadors of Anti-Graft Commission

?The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has urged retired officers to continue upholding the core values of integrity and transparency, charging them to remain worthy ambassadors of the anti-graft agency even after active service.

?Speaking on Friday, November 6, 2026, when members of the Association of Retired Officers of the EFCC paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission’s Abuja headquarters, Olukoyede commended the retirees for their foundational contributions to the growth, achievements, convictions, and asset recoveries of the agency over the years.

?Highlighting internal reforms under his administration since assuming office in October 2023, Olukoyede disclosed that more than 40 staff members had been dismissed for gross misconduct and indiscipline as part of efforts to enforce internal cleansing and maintain institutional discipline.

?He stressed that the conduct of retired personnel outside the organization directly impacts public perception, urging them to guard the EFCC brand diligently.

?Addressing retirees' welfare, the EFCC Chairman assured the delegation of sustained severance package payments and outlined plans to engage retired officers as resource persons in leadership development programs, alongside initiatives to establish an EFCC Estate for both serving and retired staff on a subscription basis.

?Earlier in his remarks, the President of the Association and former Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Dr. Ayo Olowonihi, expressed gratitude to the Commission’s leadership for ensuring the prompt payment of severance allowances and for facilitating the association's official registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

He subsequently announced Olukoyede's appointment as the association’s patron in appreciation of his support.
