?President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted a letter to the Senate seeking the confirmation of six executive directors nominated to serve on the board of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Upon legislative clearance, all six nominees will serve a five-year term.
?The list of nominees features three reappointments and three new inductees.
The reappointed officials include Mr. Abiodun Adeniji as Executive Director, Finance and Accounts; Mr. Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha as Executive Director, Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Dr. Mustapha Lamorde as Executive Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Community.
?Joining the authority as new executive directors are Mr. Mobolaji Tajudeen Musa, who will oversee Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ms. Ogechukwu Modie, assigned to Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Mr. Said Abutalib, designated for Corporate Services and Administration.
?Urging the Senate to handle the confirmation process promptly, President Tinubu emphasized that swift approval will maintain institutional momentum and reinforce the agency's regulatory oversight capacity.
?In an accompanying decision, the President approved the appointment of Mrs. Jumoke Gafar as Secretary to the Board/Authority and Legal Adviser, pending the completion of formal statutory requirements under Section 46 of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
These latest leadership updates follow the appointment of Engr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as Chief Executive of the NMDPRA earlier this year.
