Speaker Abbas leads House delegation on condolence visit to Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s family

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, GCON, on Tuesday, led a high-level delegation of the House on a condolence visit to the family of renowned Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniya sect, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday, November 27.

A statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, said the delegation was received by the family members of the late Tijjaniya leader, including his children, and followers.

The delegation comprised Chief Whip, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo; Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Aliyu Sani Madaki; Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi; Chairman, Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) and Leader of the Northern Caucus, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa; Chairman, House Committee on Ports and Harbours, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, as well as two members from Bauchi State, Hon. Baffa Misau and Hon. Aliyu Aminu Garu.

The delegation was received by the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, at the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi mosque, with a former governor of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, in attendance.

Speaker Abbas said they were in Bauchi to condole the family of the late Islamic scholar and leader over the loss, describing the late revered Tijjaniya leader as a father and peacemaker who touched many lives positively.

They prayed for the repose of the soul of the late revered Islamic scholar and urged his family to find solace in the exemplary life he lived and the legacy he left behind.

“We pray to Allah (SWT) to reward our father with Jannatul Firdaus and give you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the Speaker said.

The deputy governor thanked the Speaker for leading such a powerful delegation to Bauchi to condole the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s family, the people, and the government of the state over the loss.
