The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has confirmed the release of the Nigerian girls who were recently detained in Mauritius.

?In an official statement released by the Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Chairman and CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed that the commission has worked in direct coordination with the relevant Nigerian Embassy to address the situation.

The diplomatic mission has formally engaged Mauritian authorities to demand accountability and establish measures to prevent future occurrences.

?The commission confirmed that the affected individuals have been safely released in Nairobi, Kenya, and are currently en route back to Nigeria.

?Expressing her sympathies to the affected citizens, Dabiri-Erewa noted that NiDCOM remains eager to hear their accounts to guide necessary follow-up actions, rehabilitation, and support measures.

?She reaffirmed that the safety, welfare, and protection of citizens abroad remain a primary focus of the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
