El-Rufai Appears in Two Kaduna Courts Over Alleged Financial Misconduct and Money Laundering Charges

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, appeared before both the Federal High Court and Kaduna State High Court on Wednesday over separate cases filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

At the Federal High Court, El-Rufai, his former adviser Jimi Lawal, and several companies were arraigned on an amended 11-count charge involving alleged financial misconduct.

Both El-Rufai and Lawal pleaded not guilty, while the court reserved its ruling on their bail applications until July 1, 2026.

In a separate case before the Kaduna State High Court, El-Rufai faces allegations of abuse of office and money laundering.

The court adjourned the matter until June 29, 2026, for further hearing.
