The Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, has fired four senior officers for gross misconduct, the institution confirmed on Monday.
Those dismissed are the Registrar, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Bello; the College Librarian, Yusuf Shehu Aliyu; the Director of Works and Services, Builder Muhammad Ibrahim Malam; and a Governing Council member representing Non-Teaching Staff, Ibrahim Shehu.
The decision was made during the College’s 7th Governing Council meeting on January 31, 2026, at the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) headquarters in Abuja. It followed findings by a Federal Ministry of Education fact-finding committee and the College’s internal investigative panel, which indicted the officers on multiple counts of misconduct.
In a statement, the Acting Director of Public Relations, Dahiru Gurama, said the Council acted to enforce discipline, transparency, and accountability within the College.
To maintain administrative continuity, the Council appointed the most senior Deputy Registrar, Mallam Haruna N. Ayuba, as Acting Registrar.
The Council reassured staff and students that all academic and administrative activities would continue without disruption.
