The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Bauchi State has called on eligible citizens to actively participate in the upcoming claims and objections exercise as the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) is set for public display.
The announcement comes as the first quarter of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise closes on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Aliyu Hassan Shaaba, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner,
The Commission disclosed that the display of the Preliminary Register will commence on Monday, 15th December, and end on Sunday, 21st December 2025. The exercise will be conducted across the 20 INEC Local Government Area offices and the State Office.
INEC emphasized that the claims and objections phase is a vital component of the voter registration process, giving the public an opportunity to scrutinize the register for accuracy and credibility.
“Citizens who recently registered or updated their details are particularly encouraged to check their information to ensure their data is captured correctly.
“During this period, voters are allowed to raise claims if their details are missing or wrongly entered and file objections against names suspected to be ineligible, duplicated, or unlawfully included in the register.
The Commission described the exercise as an essential step toward producing a clean, reliable, and transparent voter register ahead of future elections.
It also urged residents to take the process seriously, noting that public involvement is key to safeguarding the integrity of electoral processes.
Meanwhile, INEC confirmed that the second phase of the CVR exercise will resume on Monday, January 5th, 2026, for those who missed the first round.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to upholding electoral standards and ensuring that every eligible citizen has a chance to participate in building a credible voter register.
