ATBUTH CMD, Prof. Bara, shines with 2 national awards at presidential villa

The Chief Medical Director of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, Prof. Yusuf Bara has been honoured with two prestigious national awards at the 2025 Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

ATBUTH Bauchi emerged as the Best Federal Health Institution in Innovative Use of Technology, in recognition of its remarkable strides in digital transformation, healthcare delivery, and institutional modernization.

Additionally, Professor Jibrin received the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award for his visionary leadership and commitment to advancing digital governance and innovation in the Nigerian health sector.

The event, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under The Presidency, brought together top government officials, policymakers, innovators, and public servants from across the country.

In his remarks, Prof Bara dedicated the awards to the hospital’s management team, staff, and students, describing them as the driving force behind ATBUTH’s success.

He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining excellence in healthcare delivery, medical training, research, and digital innovation in line with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.

The recognition underscores ATBUTH’s steady rise as a leading teaching and referral centre in Nigeria, driven by innovation, dedication, and service to humanity.
